CORE ECS to Deliver Assessments in St. Croix

CORE ECS will provide St. Croix School District (SCSD) a formative assessment program and web-based assessment platform for the 2012-2013 school year.  The program is intended to serve up to 6,800 students in grades 2-12 and inform their educators at classroom, school and district levels.

Licenses to CORE ECS’ online Assessment Center will allow for the hybrid administration of assessments (online, responder/clicker, or paper/pencil/scan).  Reports will provide data to the district and schools to inform instruction and assist predictions of performance on the Virgin Islands’ Territorial Assessments of Learning (VITAL).  Online test creation will be available to teachers and administrators using CORE ECS’ item banks.  The Mathematics and Reading item banks will be aligned to the Common Core Standards.  Additionally, teachers and administrators will have access to an SCSD bank comprised of items authored by SCSD.  Online supplemental skill resources will also be available.

CORE ECS will also license the use of Universal Screener assessments for mathematics and reading in grades 2-12.  The assessments will be aligned to the Common Core Standards.  There will be a total of three assessments administered at each grade level during the three  testing windows in the 2012–2013 school year.

CORE ECS will continue to service this program with a combination of remote support and online training videos to help ensure a successful implementation.
